Clarity is a personal AI coaching space. Your conversations touch on real, personal parts of your life — so we've built this service with privacy as a core principle, not an afterthought. This page explains exactly what we collect, what we don't, and how your data is handled.
01 — What we collect

Account information — your email address and a cryptographically hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text and cannot recover it.

Coaching profile — information you share during onboarding (name, focus areas, coaching preferences) and insights Clarity builds over time to personalise your sessions.

Goals — goals you create, including title, life area, progress notes, and target dates.

Session summaries — after each session, a summary is saved to help future sessions build on past ones. Raw conversation logs are saved only for non-private sessions, and are automatically deleted after 14 days unless you choose to pin them.
02 — What we don't collect
◆We do not collect payment information — Clarity is currently free.
◆We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising.
◆We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.
◆We do not share your data with any third party except as described in this policy.
03 — How your conversations are processed
Your messages are sent to the OpenAI API to generate coaching responses. As an API customer, OpenAI does not use API conversation data to train their AI models by default — your conversations are not used to improve any AI system. OpenAI retains API logs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring purposes only.

Private Mode — when Private Mode is enabled, your session is never written to disk at all. No summary, no log, nothing. Use Private Mode for anything you want to keep completely off the record.
04 — Data storage & security
◆All data is stored on
Railway's infrastructure (US region) on an encrypted persistent volume.
◆All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
◆Passwords are hashed with a unique salt — we cannot recover or view your password.
◆Sessions expire automatically after 5 minutes of inactivity and are cleared when you close your browser tab.
◆Unsaved conversation history is automatically deleted after 14 days.
05 — Email
We use your email address only for transactional emails: account creation confirmation and account deletion confirmation. We do not send newsletters or marketing emails. Emails are delivered via Resend.
06 — Your rights & controls
◆Delete your account — permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
◆Clear your memory — clear your coaching profile and session memory at any time from Settings without deleting your account.
◆Private sessions — enable Private Mode before any session to prevent it from being stored at all.
◆Pin or delete chat history — manage your saved conversations directly from the History section.
07 — Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. We won't reduce your privacy rights without clear notice.
